Premier Bank has introduced Premier Connect, Kenya’s first fully Sharia‑compliant digital banking ecosystem, developed in collaboration with Mastercard. This omnichannel platform lets users onboard remotely, manage virtual cards, and conduct real-time payments via IFT, PesaLink, RTGS, SWIFT, and BillPay – all from one app.

Additionally, the bank unveiled Premier Tap, a wearable, contactless payment solution embedded in items like rings, bracelets (even cultural Maasai bead accessories), wristbands, and key fobs. This innovation offers a stylish and secure alternative to traditional cards by utilizing tokenization and encryption, and allows users to instantly block or cancel devices as needed.

Premier Bank, headquartered in Somalia and operating in Kenya since July 2023 after acquiring First Community Bank, aims to strengthen regional reach by offering seamless digital payments and reducing reliance on physical branches. With features like card control, subscription oversight, and software-based POS tools that turn smartphones into payment terminals, Premier Connect targets diaspora remittances, student payments, SMEs, and merchant inclusion – all with enhanced security and regulatory compliance .
